About Us

Our Team

GRPP is a team of dedicated individuals committed to helping farmers improve their yields and profitability. We recognize and accept the seasonal demands of the farming industry, realizing that in-season support is a critical component of a successful farm operation.

Having been properly trained on all products that we carry and all concepts that we have available, we are well equipped to help you from the crop planning stage through to harvest. We recognize that a lot of the decisions growers make have an agronomic aspect. We are excited to have an on-staff agronomist that can weigh in on the potential impact from changes that are being implemented.

We welcome the opportunity to partner with you as you advance your operation. We will help you develop a plan to implement equipment improvements and cropping strategies that are tailored to your unique farming environment.

Our Story

Together with our family, we also operate Snyder's Sweet Corn, a 75 acre fresh market sweet corn farm in Caledonia, Ontario.

After years of dealing with frustration to do with singulation from finger and positive air pressure meters, and needing more detailed information to improve stands in the field, we began to search for new technology to add to our operation. In 2008 we were introduced to the 20/20 SeedSense monitor from Precision Planting which would provide population, real time singulation details and row unit down force data. With the new monitor in the cab, Tom was able to make improvements to how the corn was planted. He quickly discovered that although he could manually adjust down pressure springs based on the new data in the cab, he could not get the management he now desired. Using the data collected with 20/20 SeedSense, we confidently made the decision to adopt the eSet metering system as well as invest in 20/20 AirForce for automatic down force control. At this point we were excited to be presented with the opportunity to represent Precision Planting as a dealer and Grand River Planter Parts was established.

Our farm quickly realized return on our investment in the Precision Planting products and we were able to re-invest to make more improvements. We currently have our 6-row planter set up with vSet/vDrive, DeltaForce, WaveVision, Martin 1360 Row Cleaners with CleanSweep and a selection of closing wheel options. In 2015 we invested in new nitrogen strategies incorporating the 360 Yield Center line of products that have resulted in increased profitability.

Grand River Planters Inc. has been a great compliment to our farm operation. We are excited to be farmers and to be involved in the farm industry!
